Just WOW! Young, energetic Team, who love what they do & you feel that from your first impression! Have been there alone on my last day in Donostia & what should I say? Instead of feeling awkward, I felt like having an amazing dinner at a good friends place. These guys completely made my day! Not only because their food is outstanding (fell in love with their pimientos del piquillo served with the Txuleta), but also they recommend delicious Rioja wine to their food + they make you feel part of the family! I can absolutely call this a happy place & I truly hope we will meet each other again (hopefully until next time my Spanish skills have improved ;) ; Muchas gracias a todos & 'muito obrigado' para los brasileños YOU guys are amazing. Keep up that great work
Really lucky we managed to get a table indoors during the Sunday lunch service without reservations. When we got served the traditional Gilda (the iconic pintxo of guindilla peppers, anchovies and olives), reimagined as part of a pani puri, we knew we were in for a treat. Quality ingredients and impressive grill/fire cooking. We enjoyed the seasonal grilled peppers (20% chance of very spicy!), a very moreish onion risotto/rice dish, a beautiful and delicate turbot, and the iconic txuelta done in such a way that really allowed us to enjoy the beef. Wish we had space to try more dishes! Our host Juliana was so personable and brilliant, ensuring our needs were taken care of even during a busy afternoon. Highly recommended for a contemporary, beautiful and tasty escape just a short, accessible distance from the city.
We found this place by chance whilst we were waiting to check in to our Airbnb. We were so happy we did as the food was fantastic and service was spot on. Got some great Pintoxo recommendations for The Old Town too. They use a wood fire to cook the food in traditional Basque style! It was delicious
This trip we went to London, Paris, and all over Basque Country. This was our best meal. Service standards are different in Spain, so keeping that in mind, we were treated so warmly and well. Best service we've received. It almost felt like we were eating at a family friend's home. And the food was incredible. Everything. We had the famous ribeye and the authentic grilling method they use here makes it taste unlike anywhere else. We're planning to bring friends back to San Sebastian in a couple years and this will be the first reservation we book when we return.
Lovely food and atmosphere. Very Nice outdoor area and super friendly staff
We ended our San Sebastian trip with an absolutely fantastic meal. The grilled meats, seafood, and rice dishes were packed with flavor and served in a gorgeous setting. Julianna made the night even more special with her incredibly kind and attentive service. She genuinely went above and beyond. The rice dish of the day was full of depth, and the turbot was cooked perfectly with a subtle sauce that brought out its natural flavor. Starters were also excellent and came in large, satisfying portions. This spot truly stands out. I highly recommend it to anyone in the area. Honestly, I think it delivers a better experience than some of the better-known places nearby.
My wife and I had a couple hour lunch at this restaurant and loved it. The main was Rodaballo Salvaje (wild turbot), Piquillos asados (grilled peppers) & a green salad. It was all phenomenal. This Basque restaurant does things with an open grill that seem impossible. Our only criticism is that we thought the amuse-bouche was a little on the fishy side and not to our taste. The Revuelto de Hongos (egg & mushroom) appetizer was delicious but maybe just a little too salty. The Basque Sidra seems to go with everything. We finished with an out of this world Tarta de queso (translates to cheesecake but not really) with an ice cream that was almost vanilla but unlike anything I've ever had. The outdoor setting was perfect. The entire experience was delicious and relaxing.
Beautiful restaurant in a quieter area near the city. The food was amazing- very fresh and delicious. The risotto with fresh local peppers was so satisfying. We had the grilled turbot which was so light, flavorful, tender, and buttery and a perfectly cooked steak. Our only regret was not saving room for dessert, which I can imagine is also amazing. The service was excellent, I can tell the owners care deeply about the guest experience. There were beautiful views of a peaceful garden as we ate.
